An external security check of your website
Basic is an external security check. I look at your website and domain the way an attacker would, and tell you what is exposed and what to fix.
Many small businesses do not know what others can see of their website from the outside. It might be a forgotten backup, an admin page without extra protection, outdated software or a domain where anyone can send email in your name.
Basic finds this kind of thing without touching your systems. I only look at what is public, and I change nothing. You get a report that is easy to understand, and a retest once you have fixed the findings.
A good fit if
- You have a website but nobody keeping an eye on its security
- You want to know whether your site and email are set up properly
- You are an association or a small business and want to start somewhere
Questions about the package
Is an external check enough?
For an ordinary website without logins, it is often a good place to start. If the site has logins, customer accounts or an API, Extended is a better choice, because then the application itself needs testing too.
Will our visitors notice anything?
No. I test carefully and without changing data, so the site runs as normal.
Do we need to give you access to anything?
No, only written permission from the owner of the system. Basic only looks at what is public.
